UPDATE ON INVESTMENT IN COLD STORE AND BLAST FREEZE CAPACITY AT IBL COLD STORES - COMPLETED AND OPERATIONAL MORE THAN ONE MONTH AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
Construction of the new 11,000m³ cold store chamber and 360m³ blast freeze facility at IBL Cold Stores in Knowsley, near Liverpool has been completed more than a month ahead of schedule.
The blast freezer is now operational and the temperature is currently being run down in a controlled manner in the cold store chamber which will be operational by 1st September.
As a result of this investment cold store capacity at the multi-temperature-controlled facility has increased by 20%, and total site capacity by some 10% with facilities available across 12 bespoke chambers. The addition of a blast freeze facility means that IBL can now meet demand for this service from its existing client base and will be able to develop new lines of enquiry.
In a statement for the Company Ian Desmonde commented that “we are delighted to be able to offer this excellent new facility to our customers. It complements our ability to provide storage at a range of temperatures from deep cold through to chill, and underlines our commitment to investing to meet the needs of its customers”.
